U.S. Senator John McCain Visits Honeywell, Interacts with Technologies, and Tours Assembly and Testing Areas

U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) visited a Honeywell Aerospace site in Phoenix, Arizona (34th St.) on August 6 to meet with members of the Honeywell Aerospace leadership team, tour the engines and APU assembly and testing areas, and hold a meeting with employees.

Senator McCain, who is a decorated U.S. Navy veteran, former prisoner of war, and current member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, visited the assembly lines for the T55 engine for the Chinook 47 helicopter and the TPE 331 engine on the Predator unmanned aerial vehicle.  He also learned more about Honeywell Green Jet Fuel™, which has been successfully demonstrated on commercial and military platforms, and about Honeywell’s commercial offerings, including the APU 131-series and the HTF7000 business jet engine.

While on site, Senator McCain held an open forum meeting with more than 200 employees. He discussed state issues, including illegal immigration, unemployment rates, and economic recovery, as well as federal and international topics ranging from defense acquisition and U.S. export reform to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The senator encouraged employees to be proud of the work they do for the end users of Honeywell products and technologies and for being an important part of Arizona’s industrial base.
