Shanghai Honors Honeywell Leader With the City’s Top Award

Shane Tedjarati, President of High Growth Regions, Honeywell

Honeywell’s President of Global High Growth Regions Shane Tedjarati has been honored with the Magnolia Gold Award, a prestigious award presented to foreign residents in Shanghai for their contributions to the economic and social development of the city.

“Earlier this month, I celebrated my 20th year in China,” Tedjarati said. “During the past two decades, I have witnessed the rapid economic development and remarkable social evolution of Shanghai, and I am proud to have played a part in that progress. This award is not just for me, it's an award for Honeywell and for all the people who have worked so hard to make the company a success in China.”

Shane Tedjarati joined Honeywell in 2004 as China and India president and was elevated to his current role early 2012 to lead overall business strategy, planning and implementation of the company's high growth regions, which include China, India, Brazil, Russia, Turkey and others. Under his leadership, Honeywell has maintained an annual compound growth rate of approximately 20% in China, while staff numbers have grown from 3,800 to 12,000. Honeywell has made significant progress in implementing its localization strategy in China, which has become one of the key markets in Honeywell's global success.

Mr. Tedjarati coined Honeywell’s unique growth strategy “East for East” and “East to West”, which led Honeywell China’s business onto a fast track.  “East for East” strategy identifies China-specific needs and meets them with locally-developed innovations. “East to West” refers to the transfer of China developed innovations to the West where they can be further tailored to meet the needs of various markets served by Honeywell or our Chinese customers.
